Investing in emerging markets remains a challenging yet rewarding opportunity. We will investigate the evolution of the emerging market debt and equity universe and look at these markets in terms of risk and reward. Gone are the days when it was a simple matter of choosing “Latin America” over “Asia,” or “Central Europe” over “Africa.” The idiosyncrasies of the emerging markets have heightened the importance of understanding the difference between Uruguay and Paraguay, between rupees and rials, and between emerging and frontier markets. Looking beyond the BRICS you will find the emerging markets are enriched by overlooked and budding economies.
Speaker Name and Bio:
David Muller, Portfolio Manager, joined the investment team in November 2015. He has been with Ashmore since April 2012, as a member of the Institutional Account Management team looking after its North American clients. His prior experience includes positions at The Rohatyn Group, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Fisher Francis Trees & Watts, Alecta Investment Management and JP Morgan Investment Management. David received a BA in International Relations from Brown University, a Masters of European Law from the Europa Institut/Universitaet des Saarlandes in Saarbruecken, Germany as a Fulbright Scholar, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is licensed as a Series 7 and Series 63 Registered Representative.
